Design Studies Keynote Lecture Monday 22 March 1:00PM Archway 1
Marcus Schultz will give a Design Studies Keynote Lecture today at 1:00PM in Archway 1 (directly in front of the Design Studies building). Marcus worked for Bosch Siemens Home Appliances as a global product manager for almost 4 years. He is currently a doctoral student at the marketing department at the University of Otago. The title of his lecture is “Products the world doesn’t need: Confessions of a German Product Manager”. Everyone is invited to attend his public confession, and to generously express forgiveness (assuming he is contrite enough).
On a completely unrelated note, I also invite you to visit an exhibition of Chindogu, a Japanese term for completely useless inventions, at the Otago Settlers Museum in Dunedin (part of the Fringe Festival). Before you go, check out the History of Useless Inventions on Designboom, the Chindogu Gallery, and this website, which has a pretty useless introduction but pleasant background music.
